2010 Woodstock 'Pilot's View' Shiraz
Trevor Maskell - www.news.com.au
HIGH ON FLAVOUR - $38
WHAT a fantastic shiraz this is. Named after World War II pilot Doug Collett, who acquired Woodstock in the early 1970s, the Pilot's View is what McLaren Vale stands for: generosity, warmth and terrific value. It's incredibly aromatic with coffee beans, licorice, leather and dark chocolate. The palate is youthful and finely structured. Its persistent flavours last long after the mouthful of wine has disappeared. Excellent effort.
Food: Mushroom ragout
Value: Worth it
Rating: 4/5
